Vintage bust of Dante, bronzed plaster, Italy, around 1970
Usually I rather enjoy it, when some nice Italian bloke is looking at me long and hard, but not with this guy. He is rather old and I feel that Mother Nature was not in her best form when she created him.
But in his day and age, he was a very very cool dude. He could write, was a famous poet and was a very very deep thinker. Actually, he is still very well known today, thanks to the masterpiece he wrote, La Divina Comedian. Danté Alighieri (1265-1321). But my of my, was he ugly.
This is an old bust of the guy, of him at an old age. It was made in Italy, around 1970, made from raisin.
Dimensions: h 20 cm, w 25 cm, d 11 cm.
