Concrete flowerpot in 1 piece, Nederland, 2000
Today I was on a scavenger hunt, searching for new old treasures for our shop. And I found this planter. And I stood there hemming and hawing, indecisive whether to buy it or not. Because it is not old, not new either, but not really that old. It is from 2000. So in the prime of its live so to speak.
But to be honest, I really do not want treasures in my little shop that were born after 1970. (Just to be sure, this criterium only applies to the stuff I dreg in every week, not our customers of course. )
And this planter does not meet the age criterium. But did I take it then?
I bought it because it is a solid concrete planter. And why is that relevant, you probably ask yourself now? Because it makes it very very heavy. And that makes it almost too heavy to lift, thus too heavy to steal. And that, in its turn, makes that you can put in near your front door.
And for lots of people, here in The Hague or other major cities, is very good news.
I only paid a small amount for it, so I will sell it cheap.
So if you buy it and put in in front of your house and by accident, it 'does jump on the back of a truck', you can just shake it off. No need to cry for weeks on ends because of the loss of this planter.
