It looks like Maastricht stoneware and maybe it is, but they forgot to stamp it with the glazing. They have been for ages and ages in our family. But were not in use for the last couple of years. I think my grandmother was the last person, that I saw actually making use of them, by serving little snacks on them in the weekend. Old fashioned snacks, we call them 'zoutjes', that you are only served by people born before 1950.
While my grandmother was still alive, they moved to my Mothers place, where they spend their live being stored away in a cabinet, collecting dust instead of serving snacks. Where I found them, liked them and nicked them. Not because I wanted to use them but because they looked lovely on the old shelf I had mounted on my wall in the kitchen.
But the times, they are changing and after a lot of hassle and building, I finally got myself a new kitchen, 7 years ago. A new kitchen without a shelf. So there they went again, stored away in the dark of a closed cabinet. And now, after being stowed away for 7 years, I thought they deserve better. They deserve to be the focus of attention in your home, at your table, or if not that, they deserve a to be on a shelf in your kitchen, radiating beauty.
