This French, Art Deco, chocolate set is from Paris. Ontworpen en gemaakt door de firma Robj around 1925-1930. So it is not, I repeat not a tea set but a chocolate set. So the lid of the teapot is not missing, it was never there in the first place since it is chocolate pot. In one of pots you have the molten chocolate, in the other the warm milk en the small bowls are used for the sugar and cookies.
It is almost to precious to use. Look at it, it is really something very very special. And in pristine condition.
The set consist of 8 pieces. And if you want to know more about it, an example of this service is illustrated in Robj Le Ceramiche 1921 – 1931” by Vanna Berga, published by Leonard Periodici, Italy 1995. I think I have this book in lying around in storage, so I will see if I can pick it up some time soon.
Every piece of the set is marked “Robj, Paris” and “Importe du Luxenbourg”.
I will not measure them all, just the largest: h 13 cm, diameter 11 cm, wide 11 cm, from the spout to the handle.
