Antique folding table, UK, 1900
Very very pretty folding table, antique, from the UK. The top has this nice chequered pattern in veneer. The legs are solid wood, mahogany by the look of it.
What makes this table extra special is it's folding mechanism. While simple bands would have sufficed to prevent the legs from falling apart, some one designed a very ingenious sliding mechanism, with little wheels and rails to help the folding in.
An unnecessary complicated system, but very very nice.
There is some water damage on the top and there is also a little tear in the veneer. Will take a better photo of it.
But even with these two blemishes on its top, it still is a very very nice table.
Dimensions: h 70 cm, w 74 cm, d 53 cm. Folded in, a whole lot smaller
