I just love storks. No longer up close, since one of them sh.t on me, but from a distance, or like here, as a statue.
I bought this one on a trip in Germany. And I think it is a birth - sign. So when a little baby was born, it was placed in the garden, to get the message of the new born to the world. (we mere mortals do not have a bunch of angels at hand to spread the news in case of a birth, so best use a stork).
And it is demountable. So when the birth was sufficiently advertised in the garden, the stork was disassembled and put away for the birth of the next brat.
It has some rust in places, but I did not want to paint it, since that would damage the patina it also has. His feet and his long legs are made from twisted iron rods. His little body is made from a thin sheet of iron.
It would look great in your home. But you can also have him live in your garden if you are willing to make a bit of effort. Since he is a bit of light weight, a good old fashioned storm will blow him from here right over your neighbours fence. And to prevent that I advise you to dig in his little feet, to keep him standing, come rain and etc.
