XL leather swivelling desk chair, American, Century Chair Company 1980
For those of us around my age, can you still recall the time when Dallas was the number one TV series world wide? For us, as a family, it was the highlight of the week. All of gathered around the TV, watching what JR Ewing and Cliff Barnes where up to now. My (step) brothers were mainly interested in the well and woe of sweet Lucy, (probably hoping her tight blouses would burst open, which they never did,) my mum was a fierce supporter of Sue Ellen and me myself and I had a huge crush on Boby, the man of Atlantis.
So when I bought this chair and heard it was an American desk chair, made by Century Furniture, straight from the eighties, my fantasy went dotty.
Because wouldn't you agree, this could be the chair of JR? Maybe it even is. (No, it is not, I checked, see the last photo's).
But this chair is meant for the BOSS. It sits divine, the foot has five arms with brass wheels, is genuine leather with nice brass studs on the side and the armrest.
So, if you have a nice desk, this is your chair. And when you take a seat, you can pretend for a minute that you are JR Ewing. (let's just hope that no one shoots you)
Dimensions: Back height 114 cm. Seating height (can be adjusted) 52 cm. Seating depth 51 cm. Chair itself is 68 cm wide and 78 cm deep. So it is really a rather large one.
