What to tell about this sweetie? It reminds me of my youth. We had one just like it at home. No idea how we got it, to my knowledge no one in my family ever travelled to India, but we had one and I loved it.
Don't what happened to the one we had. Probably ended up in the trash, tossed out without a second thought. And be honest, that was the fate of lots of our stuff, we just tossed it out, gave it away or left it behind. Didn't you? I did. Much to my regret, some 20 years later.
On the other side, you can not keep everything. Your house is your home, not a museum. And luckily I found this one. Two actually, but one found a new forever home at my place. They other one is up for sale.
It is from India, around 1950. The little mirrors and sequins have dulled a bit with age. You can try to give them a polish. I didn't dare to, afraid of making stains. But you are welcome to try.
