Vintage soapstone ducks, Spain, 1960
I scoured these ducks in Spain. Almost felled by the heat, I was strolling on a little market. And that is when I spotted them, standing on a little corner of a stall. The first catch of the day. And almost the last, since I was just minutes away from fainting in the heat of the blazing sun.
I bought them, called them Duck and Duckie and took them with me to a café, recuperating in the shade while sipping a cola light. Me, not them.
They have lived the fast live, as is fitting for two ducks living in the well to do area of Andalus. And that resulted in some scratches on their base.
Dimensions: perspex base h 2 cm, w 20 cm, d 8 cm. Ducks height 11 cm.
