This little two seater was once part of a much longer row folding chairs. And they were employed in the waiting room of the pont to Ile de Ré. But 'the new road" came and the ferry was decommissioned and the waiting room abandoned. Fast forward to a couple of years ago. The former offices of the ferry were being remodelled and these little folding seats were on the brink of being demolished and thrown in the skip. Luckily someone saved them for this horrible fate and brought them back on the market. Where I bought them. And aren't they cute.

They have suffered from the neglect in the past decade and when I brought them to my shop they were covered in building dust that had really gotten hold of it. But some good deep cleaning and waxing brought back the beautiful color of the wood and the folding mechanism is in perfect working order again. .

There are old woodworm holes in the legs, but they are no longer active and just to be on the safe side, the bench has been treated again.

Dimensions: will follow soon.
