Pair of vintage stone ware dogs, 1950, UK
Somewhere in this webshop you can find a pair of 'hooker' dogs. If you want to know what they were used for and how they were used, I advise you to read the article.
Back to this pair. On a market in England I found this pair. Fell in love on sight, but these are no 'hooker' dogs. They are different. The are some kind of bassets carrying a basket with three little piglets in their mouth. The symbolism eludes me completely. But I was thinking, what if you call these kind of dogs 'Gigolo' dogs in the context of emancipation and the #metoo movement. So we need them, if the girls have 'hooker dogs' than the boys can have 'Gigolo' dogs.
Stone ware dogs, no chips, around 1950.
Dimensions; will follow any time soon.
