Pair of vintage chandeliers, forged steel, France, around 1970
I bought this pair chandlesticks I think more than a decade ago in France. Bought them for myself, not for the shop, because I just loved them. And I still love them, but....
Even after 10 years they still have not find a permanent spot in my place. That is to say, they have a spot but it is not the spot they deserve. They moved from room to room over the years, from the living room to the study, back to the living room from Christmas, a short while on my balcony, a short lived stay in our summer cabin on the Kaag and after a short trip back to the living room, they ended up in the spare room. ( together with their three taller brothers about whom I will tell you more at a later stage)
And they stood there, not in a place of honour, but in a corner and they moved further and further away to the back, every month a bit further to the back. Gathering dust, very decorative dust, but still, gathering dust. And that is not why they were created, collecting decorative dust in a corner in the back of a spare bedroom in the Hague.
So it was decision making time, they deserve better and they are allowed to go, to look for a better home where they will find the love and attention they so crave and that should be rightfully theirs. They deserve better, they are worth it.
Price stated is for one, and they can be sold as singletons or as a pair.
