Antique showcase with rooster, UK, 1930
This rooster was probably somebody's pride and joy. Unfortunately he died a long time ago. But somebody loved him so much that he stuffed him and put him in a nice box.
And without being able to pinpoint why I love them so much, I had to have these boxes, (we have a second one with a a duck and a sandpiper). Is it because they are so very very old? They are from the 1930's maybe even older. Is it because the interior of the boxes is so very nicely set up, with moss and plants. Or maybe it is because of the nice box. I just loved it, so there it came, to the shop.
Maybe you like it too?
Dimensions: h 35 cm, w 40 cm, d 15 cm.
