Old iron tea tray, to sell little glasses of tea from, India, 1970
I have never been to India, is still on my bucket list, but that is where this basket comes from. It used to be a basket from a 'Tea Boy'. Those little rascals roaming the streets, trying to sell their chai. In the holes on the one side there used to be the glasses, in the middle the teapot and some other necessities and on the other side the spoons were dangling. But I am not sure about that last part.
I can not imagine that you are starting your own ambulant tea business with this tray but it will look very very nice in your kitchen, filled with all kinds of fruit and vegetables.
