This chest of drawers is the prettiest I have ever had in the shop. And aren't I a lucky girl, because some time ago I bought the funniest dressoir I had even gotten my hands on. (see somewhere else in our web hop). So now I have two beauties in store. Isn't life sweet.
Should you keep them for yourself, you might wonder.
Unfortunately no, I can not keep them, no more space available in our home. I have this lovely chest of drawers in my bedroom, given to me by my late father for the occasion of the birth of my son. So, yes, this one that I have in my shop is probably a bit prettier, but....... I am so very attached to the one I have now, with all the memories that come with it. It will never leave my house. Never ever.
Well, back to this chest of drawers. It comes from Switzerland. And used to be a family heirloom. Commissioned by grandfather, passed on to daughter and later on, to the grand daughter. Who took it on a trip all over the world as an expat. Until a couple of weeks ago. The current owner is moving to Paris, to a tiny apartment, 45m2 in all. So she had to make some though choices on what to take and what to leave behind. And this one did not make the cut.
So that is how it came to my store. And I just love it.
Solid cherry wood, around 1880-1890, from Switzerland. All in its original state, key is there, everything is still there. It is solid as a rock and heavy as a rock as well. So shipping could be a bit problematic. But if you are living in the Netherlands we will be happy to deliver it on your doorstep for a small fee.
