The more I look at the photo, the more the boys and men in it, come to live for me. (Notwithstanding the odds that any of these men are still alive, are very slim). The bloke standing on the left, it the club rebel. The boy seated in the front, second from the left, is the team 'hunk' and the boy sitting next to him has his hair cut by his Mum. The boy in the blazer standing in the back on the right, is a bit full of himself. And I feel for the boy sitting at the right in the front. Looking at him, you just can not stop thinking that he is not fitting in and feeling it.
Well, enough of that. This analysis is probably all wrong. Total bias from my side, based on a photo. But what did get to me, was when I realised that all these boys, eight years later, were probably in the army, fighting World War II. A sobering thought.
Enough said. It is just a very lovely and decorative picture to hang on your wall. There is some dust and dirt trapped behind the glass. And you can just remove the back, pop the photo out and clean both the glass and the photo. But I didn't. Since the back of the frame is also still completely original, including the little sticker by the frame manufacturer from Chiswick. So I left it at that. But you can do it.
Dimensions: frame height 32 cm, width 40, wide 1,5 cm. Photo is 17 cm height and 24 cm wide.
