Vintage garden statue of a pigeon – Belgium, circa 1975
The sort of gentle pigeon that just sits there quietly, having a little look around. No rush. We’ll deal with all the busy things later. For now, just sitting, observing, and being perfectly content with that.
Made of cement, with a beautifully weathered patina, formed over years of standing outside in rain, sun, and whatever else the weather gods felt like throwing at it.
A small and modest piece, but with plenty of character. Place it on a ledge, amongst some greenery, or even indoors on a stack of books, it will be perfectly happy wherever it ends up.
And if you’re very quiet, you might just hear it softly murmuring to itself: coo, coo.
In good vintage condition. Not something you come across every day, and certainly not twice.
