Those who follow me and my shop for a bit longer know that I love to go on treasure hunts in Spain. And on one of those hunts in 2015 I met a  fine arts painter. He made lovely little paintings of birds, flowers, people and horses.  I bought some and brought them back with me to my shop. And that was the start. Every year I went back and bought a couple of his paintings. And sold them on, with great success in my shop.

With some bumps along the way, carefully a trade relation developed between the South of Spain and South-Holland  and every since, I don't go once a year, but every time I am in Spain (once every six weeks more or less). And he is painting the blisters on his brushes, so I can take his paintings with me to Holland.

Among those, this sweet picture, of this horse. An Arabian stallion, for the horsey people among us. Very bright and merry colours. The horse in full 'party-dress', like how the horses are put up for show and competitions.

The background painted in acrylic paint, the horse in oil paint. Painted on hardboard. Signed right hand corner, Amporo

Framed in a vintage frame, gilded wood with plaster.

painting: height 40  cm, width 29 cm
