A beautiful woman. Slightly scantily clad, yet entirely in the style of the 1930s.
Just look at the details in her shawl, her hair… and that gentle, almost carefree smile.
The 1930s in Berlin — not an easy time, as we now know.
But she had no idea what lay ahead. Here, she can still smile.
And that is what makes this painting so special to me.
An old piece, with some natural craquelure here and there.
Completely original, untouched over the years.
Sadly unsigned — though to me, that takes nothing away from her charm.
And yes… she does not come cheap.
But beautiful ladies rarely do.
(And truth be told, if no one takes her home at this price, she will simply stay with me.)
