This is Frances.
Frances is a lion. A substantial one. Almost antique. From Belgium.
Frances is single.
Quite why remains a matter of speculation.
Though one suspects he may not always have behaved impeccably.
A touch of temperament, perhaps. Or simply too much attitude.
In any case: he now finds himself alone.
Which is a pity, as he would much rather have been part of a pair.
Entirely his own doing.
Don’t be like Frances
Be kind to the people around you.
Here, he receives the occasional corrective tap on the head.
Strictly educational, of course.
As you can see, progress is… limited.
Frances has a few lighter patches here and there.
On the journey back from Belgium, he had a tendency to roll about in the car.
As a result, some of the patina has worn away in places.
In the photograph, it rather looks as though he has been struck with a baseball bat.
I can assure you, that is not the case.
The photo simply doesn’t do him justice. I will see if I can take a better one.
Frances is too heavy to be sent via regular post.
However, for a small and perfectly reasonable fee, he can be delivered neatly to your doorstep.
You are, of course, equally welcome to collect him from the warehouse — which is always rather pleasant.
