Antique desk but also a washstand, opens up to reveal the washstand, UK, mahogany, around 1880

It looks like a little desk but is a bit more than that. If you lift the top, then you will find out that there is a whole world beneath it. A little mirror folds out, and there is a tile put in to put your hot water on. And all over the bottom there are cutouts for your bassin, your brush, your bottles and jars. With the top open it is a wash stand. Unfortunately the accessories that belonged have got lost over time.
Once designed for a small bedroom I think, where the double function could be put to good use. In the morning and evening a wash stand, during the day a handy desk. You can go looking for all the missing attributes but I would use it mainly as a desk, and would make some small adjustments.
I would cut a plank on size and put the over the bottom of the desk. That way you turn the space under the top put to good use. Since the little drawers you see on the front, those are as fake as Mr. Trumps skin colour. The only storage you can have is below the top lid. And you could better put it to good use.
The desk is in a rather good antique condition. The only real damage is in the top right corner of the top, a little tear in the wood.
Can to be sent by mail but can be delivered at your doorstep for a small but reasonable fee.
