Those who follow me and my shop for a bit longer know that I love to go on treasure hunts in Spain. And on one of those hunts in 2015 I met a fine arts painter. He made lovely little paintings of birds, flowers, people and horses. I bought some and brought them back with me to my shop. And that was the start. Every year I went back and bought a couple of his paintings. And sold them on, with great success in my shop.
With some bumps along the way, carefully a trade relation developed between the South of Spain and South-Holland and every since, I don't go once a year, but every time I am in Spain (once every six weeks more or less). And he is painting the blisters on his brushes, so I can take his paintings with me to Holland.
Among those, this sweet picture, of yellow roses on a branche. Timeless and stilled painting. The background painted in acrylic paint, the flowers in oil paint. Painted on on hardboard.
